New Year = New Plans

Whilst on Facebook this early evening, I noticed a status update from the 'Leaping Bunny' profile. This status has a lot to do with my one of New Years resolutions and I am really going to make the effort to rid any cleaning and make-up products in the house that have anything whatsoever to do with animal cruelty.

I have done very well with my make-up, creams, body washes and moisturisers, but in terms of household cleansing products that were purchased for me when I first moved in, I haven't quite got there yet! However, I have done some (although very little) research into which companies do not test their products on animals, and funnily enough, a lot of these products are own brands such as Tesco for example.

This is great news for me as it will keep the cost down and no harm was caused to any living thing in order for the company to get these products on their shelves. Next time I am doing the grocery shop, I shall have a look around some shops to see which ones have the leaping bunny logo on their products.

An update shall be here soon about any household cleansing products that I will come across.

Until then, carry on living the cruelty free life ^_^

Skin Drink...

Skin drink - Perfect thirst quencher for those with dry skin/in-between skin!

This is an amazing moisturiser! I just have to use a very small amount as if I am applying foundation (a dot on each cheek, 1 dot on the chin, forehead and nose) and that is more than enough. Also, if you want to use something in the morning to keep your skin hydrated all day like myself, then this is the perfect moisturiser to add with your foundation - your foundation will stick to this and you will gain perfect coverage.
This one is perfect for me, as my skin is not overly dry nor is it too oily, it's just in the middle. If you have the 'in-between' skin like myself, then this one is for you too!

I do have to say though, this one isn't the best smelling Lush product, but it doesn't smell too bad.

To find out more about this product or to order it, click here.
Here is my very small description and my rating as well a little survey I have created:

Ingredients (short list): Sesame Oil (Fair trade and Organic); Fresh rose petal infusion; Avocado (Fresh and Organic); Almond Oil; Cocoa Butter; Aloe Vera Extract; Evening primrose oil; etc. Click the link above to get more details on the ingredients in this product.

Survey:
1. When do you use this product on your skin?
I use this every morning before applying my foundation or any other make - up.

2. What skin type do you have?
My facial skin is very awkward - it's not too dry nor is it too oily, but it does need a good moisturiser so I guess I would call it 'in-between' skin. The skin on the rest of my body is a little dry and can be sensitive. I wouldn't try this anywhere else on my body as it does make my hands itch after - I think this may be down to the Aloe Vera.

3. Rate the smell from 1 - 10 (1 = Really bad Smell; 10 = Really good Smell):
I would have to rate this product's smell as a 4 - sorry Lush! As much as I love it, the smell isn't that great - doesn't stop me from using it everyday though ;).

4. Does your skin feel too oily/heavy after applying this product?
No not at all which is why I love it! My skin stays hydrated throughout the day until I wash it off at night.

5. What about with the foundation added?
Still no. My skin/face feels as light as air an that's why I love it!

My Personal Rating (out of 5 stars):

Intro into my little Lush World ❀

Good evening,

I hope everyone is having/has had a fab new year & have welcomed 2013 in style!
As part of my new years resolution, I decided to start a blog about my favourite bath & make - up products, mainly consisting of Lush.

Lush is a cosmetics company that creates & sells bath bombs, shampoos, conditionersmoisturisers, foundation, eye liners, lipsticks, etc etc.
I was first introduced to Lush when I attended a friends wedding near Halloween time. She works in the Reading store. I had previously been in Lush once whilst in Guildford.
The smell of the stores is so overpowering but absolutely beautiful & I find it always draws me in!

I visited my friend mentioned above once in the Reading store & purchased a product - this was before I started using their bath stuff. I literally started on the make - up first.
After that purchase, I started to buy their products online & I also visited a store in Westfield, Shepherds Bush in London.

Lush is also animal cruelty free & has their 'Fighting Against Animal Testing' logo on every product they sell. As someone who has applied for the RSPCA as a volunteer & who adores animals, this was a big thing for me.
Also, how can you not love a product that literally smells like heaven?
The only danger of using Lush products - well, a lot of the products smells edible, now of course, I don't want to go around eating soaps...that is certainly not ideal!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little blog & any ideas for improvements would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any problems or would like to contact me, please message me privately on twitter. My page link will appear on this blog.

Have a great week, until next time,
